Mossops Honey New Zealand
Mossop’s Honey
Mossop’s Honey has been operating for over 70 years, and supplies 100% pure, natural, 100% New Zealand Manuka Honey. The company was founded by Ron Mossop in 1947 and is now operated by his youngest son Neil (semi retired) and wife Wendy Mossop.
Ron was originally involved in the dairy industry and understood food processors, so he was able to develop a unique and natural processing method for the honey which is still used today. The honey is not over-processed in any way, hence maintaining the natural colours, flavours and goodness of the Manuka Honey.
Integrity and honesty are important to us, so we have endeavored to build our brand to be synonymous with ‘trusted’ ‘natural’ ‘quality’ and ‘100% New Zealand’.

Mossops Honey New Zealand
Mossops offer delicious Manuka Honeys produced by bees from the nectar of the Manuka flower. Our beehives are placed on remote sites near pristine native bush and forest areas of New Zealand where beautiful crystal-clear lakes, rivers or snow-capped mountains often form a picturesque back drop to the beehives.
Mossop’s Honey is a family business established by Ron Mossop in 1947, that has been keeping bees and producing and packing quality, natural, 100% New Zealand honeys for over 70 years. Ron’s youngest son, Neil, also chose the become a beekeeper at only 16 years of age, and operated several hundred beehives on his own until going into partnership with his father in 1975. Their partnership continued until 1981, when Neil and wife Wendy bought Ron’s share when he retired, and formed their own partnership.
Mossop’s is a fully integrated company involved in most aspects of beekeeping and honey production, so they have complete control over the quality and flavour of their honeys ‘From the Hive to the Honey Pot’.
They currently operate approximately 4000 beehives and produce various types of honeys, most of which is Manuka, but also Rewarewa and Pasture honeys. Mossop’s honey processing method was developed by founder Ron Mossop in the early 1950’s. This is a unique process proudly used only by Mossop’s which respects the unique properties of our New Zealand Manuka Honey which is still used today. The process ensures the honey is not over-processed in any way, hence retaining its natural colours, flavours and goodness.
